This also includes dental products! Some may find it difficult to believe, but many major brands in the oral care industry continue to test on animals.
These massive oral care corporations are introduced to you in dental school. It’s a pity that more college dental programs don’t recommend more Natural, Cruelty-Free, Eco-Friendly business options. There are numerous Cruelty-Free Oral Care Companies to choose from. Don’t be so narrow-minded as to believe that the “giants” of the oral care industry are the only ones available.
What is Cruelty-Free?
Cruelty-free is a term used to describe products that have not been tested on animals. It is a term that is becoming increasingly popular in the beauty and cosmetics industry as more and more people are looking for ways to make ethical and responsible choices when it comes to their purchases. Cruelty-free products are not tested on animals, either during the production process or after the product has been completed. This means that the ingredients used in the product have not been tested on animals, and the finished product has not been tested on animals either.
Many companies proudly display a cruelty-free logo on their products so that consumers can quickly identify them. Cruelty-free products are becoming more widely available, and it is now easier than ever to find products that have not been tested on animals. Making the switch to cruelty-free products is a great way to positively impact the environment and support companies committed to ethical practices.

Natural Cruelty-free Eco-friendly
Let’s promote using “natural-cruelty-free-eco-friendly” products in our homes and among our healthcare providers. Make stores, businesses, and brands stock/create more options so people can make better and healthier decisions. Target, Sephora, CVS, Walgreens, Wegmans, Costco, and a few other “brick and mortar” stores are gradually moving in this direction by stocking cruelty-free and green beauty brands. Don’t forget to check out your local health stores (small businesses) and ask for these brands, as they, too, require our assistance!
I dream that ALL oral care companies will be cruelty-free and environmentally friendly someday. I sincerely hope that some of these suggestions are useful to you. I know many more companies and products are out there, but I didn’t want to overwhelm you. (as if 20 isn’t enough) I’m still testing and experimenting with new clean dental companies.
Some of you may be vegan or anti-fluoride, and some of these businesses and products also cater to those preferences! While fluoride is still safe to use topically (in my professional opinion), whether or not you continue to use fluoride toothpaste is entirely up to you.
I hope you consider your pet (dog, cat, rabbit) and Mother Earth the next time you buy oral/personal care products.
