New Technology Looks to Eliminate Fillings
For those who have suffered year after year replacing those painful fillings, listen up: a new product can potentially eliminate fillings by using electric currents to push calcium and minerals into the teeth, effectively rebuilding themselves.
Currently, patients who need a filling often find themselves back in the chair once the repair fails. As the device creator says, “When we repair a tooth by putting in a filling, it enters a cycle of drilling and re-filling as ultimately each repair fails.” The new device will be equally as cost-effective as current treatments and will hopefully eliminate future problems.
This is yet another example of how technology and dentistry are collaborating to help patients and lower lifetime dental costs.
